Our Story
The Agawas have cultivated a deep understanding of loving people with intentionality and genuineness. Maybe it is the result of their Island roots, or perhaps the intentional pursuit of the fire of God. Either way when you encounter this family of 9 you will experience the richness of Ohana (family). To know Darron and Pua, and their beautiful children– Kaimipono, Carter & Tehani, Wehilani, Keahi, Kaeo, and Kana’i is to experience the gift of family. Creating family is the Agawas passion and has been their pursuit for over 14 years of thriving ministry in Hawaii, Missouri, and Colorado.
Darron and Pua’s ministerial journey began under the discipleship of Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship during their fiery, radical college experiences at Colorado State University. Serving together to see a young adult generation set on fire for Jesus, this season marked their hearts to make Jesus famous. The passion grew in them to see people transformed and changed by the power of the Holy Spirit through radical salvations, miracles, and deliverance.
The Agawa’s love the multicultural and multigenerational ministry experience at King’s Cathedral and Chapels Maui, Hawaii which helped prepare Darron and Pua for church leadership. There they pastored many and oversaw a diverse variety of ministries such as: children’s, youth, creative, bands, worship, productions and coordinated outreach events. These are some of the many adventures of ministry they have enjoyed. In their last season they assisted in a church plant for King’s Chapel Branson in Branson, Missouri.
Darron’s background has equipped him to lead with a contagious heart for Jesus. He leads families into the presence of God through anointed chain breaking worship, preaching in domestic and international churches, leading men in being spirit led husbands and fathers through freedom. Darron holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University.
Pua has a deep conviction to see ALL set free from addictions and strongholds. She couples that with an intense love for people. Pua has devoted her life to discipling families and generations to see a legacy of generational blessing. Preaching with fire, Pua combines her passion for spiritual truths with hospitality to lead others into experiencing authentic freedom. She holds a BS in Hospitality management from Colorado State University and a BA in Theology from Beacon University.
In 2006 they plucked their family from Greeley, CO and moved to Maui to seek refuge and healing. When Darron and Pua moved to Maui they returned to her childhood church family, King’s. King’s has been a vital part in their family’s healing, restoration and reestablishing purpose. Since then Darron and Pua have been on a wild ministry journey with King’s that has led them back to Darron’s birth place and home in beautiful Aurora, CO. After much prayer and hearing the Lord’s call to church plant and pioneer a work they moved to Aurora in August of 2023. The word of the Lord was two-fold: that they needed to come into the full inheritance of God’s purposes for their children and for the salvation of their entire family. They have come full circle as a family. Now Darron, Pua, and children are equipped and weaponized to take out the giants in the land. Numbers 13:30 “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”
Darron and Pua made the exciting decision to obey the call by launching King’s Aurora, a church Experiencing Life through PEOPLE, POWER, and PURPOSE. People are valuable to God and so to us. The Power of the Holy Spirit is released through prayer, worship and being a Spirit-filled church that centers its services around the leading of the Person of the Holy Spirit. As a church we emphasize living a life yielded to the Holy Spirit. Our Purpose is serving God, one another, and our community. We are created to impact the world around us and beyond. We are a multiplying church by being a disciple and making disciples. Each weekend we gather to Experience Jesus, Receive Freedom, Get Filled and Sent Out!
